Summer Interns Wanted at Värmlands Folkblad

Värmlands Folkblad has perhaps the friendliest and hardest-working editorial team in the county, but even we sometimes need a break.

That’s why we are now looking for a number of summer interns who are eager to step in and contribute when regular staff are away.

About Erna Media

Värmlands Folkblad is a regional newspaper that is part of Erna Media AB. We are an independent editorial team delivering local journalism through websites, apps, and the traditional print newspaper. We have about 20 employees across two locations, with our central editorial office in Karlstad.

VF is a company within the Erna group that has a clear growth strategy for the coming years. Within the group, we operate in local journalism, marketing, distribution, and property management. We are present in Skaraborg, Dalsland, and Värmland.

The core of our operations is based on our societal mission to strengthen democracy and serve as defenders of independent journalism. We contribute to an inclusive society where everyone can participate. Our strongest sustainability tool is journalism, where our editorial teams work daily to cover and engage in issues related to freedom of expression and other sustainability-related matters.

About the Role

What we offer is, as mentioned, a pleasant workplace, but we also provide exciting and varied work with all of Värmland as your field of operation. The tasks are diverse, ranging from hard news events to fun snapshots of everyday life in Värmland. And we always do them with joy and enthusiasm.

About You

To be able to work with us in the summer, you need to know journalism. You must have experience working with news journalism or be studying in the field, but in both cases, you must also be prepared to pitch in where needed. A driver's license is a requirement, and a good sense of humor is a plus.
